Sports and games activities have continued to increase as the University continues to develop its sports facilities. These segments of co-curriculum activities have continued to play a crucial part in nurturing talents amongst students and staff. Currently, there are 16 men and 12 women registered sports and games teams in different disciplines. There is one fitness club for staff.

The University participates in games and sports at both friendly and competitive levels.The major competitions include Kenya University National Sports Association (KUSA) championships, the annual East African Games competitions and tournaments among other activities. The University teams have been performing well at all levels. Besides participating, DeKUT also played host to a number of events. For example, in the year 2017, the University hosted the 6^th KUSA national championship at the Main Campus
